Municipality of Belvì

Belvì is a small agro-pastoral town in the centre of Sardinia, famous and much appreciated for its natural resources, food, traditions, architecture and culture. Belvì is also member of "Comunità Montana Genargentu-Mandrolisai”, an association of eleven mountainous municipalities ( www.gennargentumandrolisai.it). The Mayor of Belvì joined the “Covenant of Mayors”, the mainstream European movement involving local and regional authorities, voluntarily committing to increase energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources on their territories. Among Belvì's resources: -Natural Science Museum -Outdoor museum of contemporary art -Adventure Park (climbing, mountain bike, trekking...) -Amphitheater -Domus de Janas, "House of the Fairies", a type of pre-historic chamber tombs found in the Mediterranean area, but typical of Sardinia. -Historic centre -Nature -Food -Traditions -etc Belvì Local Council has recently established the "Belvì Youth Council", a group of young people that represent youth's diversity of perspectives, experience and knowledge. We are interested in taking part in all valid projects within all the actions of Youth in Action Programme, specially action 1.1, 4.3, 1.3 and 2. We are accreditated as sending and coordinating organization for EVS. Our reference number is 2012-IT-44.
