Since 1992 Jugendförderverein Parchim/Lübz e. V. (JFV) operates as non-profit organization. In accordance with its association articles it sets innovative impulses for encouraging the occupational integration of disadvantaged and vulnerable youth, especially early school leavers and NEET’s, youth and adults with migrant backgrounds, unemployed youth and jobless adults. JFV offers a wide range of services centered on the needs of these target audiences that aim to prepare, motivate and encourage them for training/occupation in labour market as well as supporting and guiding them in their personal development. The work of JFV is based on active networking with representatives of economic, social and political areas on regional, federal and Europe-wide level. The association is member of the Local board of Youth Offices, the Local Businessmen’s Association and the State Welfare Association. 112 motivated and competent members of staff are fully qualified to address the needs of the target-groups. It is a combination of these elements that best captures the profile of the wide and varied tasks of the institution. The work of all staff in the institution is in accordance with the quality assurance standard DIN ISO 9001:20015. JFV is a certified educational institution according AZAV for actions regarding occupational orientation and vocational training funded by the national job agency and a state-approved institution of independent youth welfare. The integration of people with a learning disability, slow learners and vulnerable youth, experiencing multi-faceted social and educational disadvantage, is specified in the formal documents of the association as one of its core objectives and purposes. JFV has experience in the development of analysis tools (we are not experts in technical implementation though). In the BRAMIR Partnership JFV developed together with European partners the Psychographic Profiling Tools for migrants. This tool allows a tailored matching between seniors volunteers and migrants for building up teams for the development of social competences of migrants. In national labour market projects JFV uses different tools for the analysis of competences and skills and developed guided interviews, questionnaires and testing concepts for the orientation of participants in occupational fields. JFV runs several national funded projects right now for the orientation and integration of jobseeking persons in the labour market. Together with companies from JFV’s network the staff works on matching participants and potential employers based on analysis of competences and skills and test working in the companies. JFV is running a production school at two locations for young persons aged 15 up to 25. Here young persons who failed in the regular school system can learn in a setting that combines theoretical lessons with productive working. Most of the students experienced school fatigue and have problems in the basic cultural tools - reading, writing and arithmetic. Some of them have behavioural problems. The young people struggle with attention deficits and a lack of concentration and need involving methods to keep going. The production school follows the ideas of Grundtvig and sees the young persons as experts of their own development. It is a comprehensive approach to involve the young people and bring them back in learning processes. The connection of learning content to productive work is the pedagogical approach. Social pedagogic work flanks it and works on strengthening the young people’s self-awareness and self-confidence.
