Društvo Legebitra

Legebitra is an LGBTIQ+ civil society organisation that has been active in the fields of human rights, education, mental, physical, and sexual health for more than 25 years, and advocates for social and systemic changes based on respect of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics. Legebitra’s work is based on five pillars/programmes: · Youth work (Legebitra operates the only LGBTIQ-specific youth centre in Slovenia) · HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) prevention and testing · Counselling and Self-help for LGBTI persons and their parents/families · Education (safer spaces for LGBTI persons in the educational system and workspace, educational workshops for various professional groups) and visibility (awareness raising, campaigns) · Legal Counseling and advocacy (providing legal advice to LGBTIQ+ people, systemic work with decision-makers on local, national, and EU level)
