European Platform for Youth Development

EPYD’s work is aimed towards community youth development having the youth as the driving force behind it. Community development involves changing the relationships between ordinary people and people in positions of power, so that everyone can take part in the issues that affect their lives. EPYD creates, develops and maintains groups, organizations or youth leaders that can play an active role and become partners in the decision- making processes, and a driving force in shaping the society they live in. We are also constantly looking for new ways to bring innovation and development in the youth field. This meaning that we try to either support the activity and development of exiting actors in the youth field or we try and create new frameworks that aim towards creating new actors, empowering youth, better integrate them in society and so on. EPYD will promote and create an environment of mutual exchange and cooperation in the field of Youth work not only by acting as a facilitator between different actors but also by helping the empowerment process of the actors involved in youth affairs trough gradually passing on the generation and implementation of youth development initiatives to other local actors. EPYD is to enhance the quality and accountability, support development, recognition and active participation of youth organizations in particular and youth organizations in general. EPYD works on increasing the quality of international youth projects and scarcity of skills development and sustainable development in youth.
