Langues et Compagnie

Langues & Compagnie (L&Cie), a non-profit association based on the principles of the social and solidarity economy, wants to promote and create new citizens’ connection by rising in families, schools and public sector the awareness on the social and educational benefits of multilingualism. L&Cie supports the conception of John Donne "No man is an island entire of itself – every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main" and go even further by supporting the idea that all languages and cultures are equals. L&Cie activities support the valorisation and promotion of multiculturalism, the exchange and dialogue between different languages and cultures. Culture and language are the best means to built interactions and exchanges between communities and L&Cie propose to promote them through culture. Our activities first target families and children and youth directly concerned by bilingual education and transmission of culture and language of origin. But they also seek at exposing any child to multiculturalism. Indeed explaining cultural diversity, its advantages and making it accepted by young public will be beneficial to our societies, help a better “living together” and the reshaping of public space. L&Cie also works along with professionals in the social and educational fields to develop awareness and provide the relevant information and formation to professionals of education confronted on a daily basis to cultural exchanges.
