Center for Interethnic Cooperation

The Center for Interethnic Cooperation was established in 1997. The goal of the Center for Interethnic Cooperation is to provide ethnic minorities in Russia with informational, technical and organizational support and to help ethnic minority associations to protect their rights. The Center has carried out more than fifty conferences, trainings, seminars and roundtable discussions in 25 regions of Russia. These events were devoted to interethnic problems and to the activities of ethnic associations. The heads of more than 400 ethnic organizations from 29 regions of Russia, representatives of the federal and local authorities, of law-enforcement agencies, of remedial organizations and the mass media participated in these events. The Center for Interethnic Cooperation has created and supports up to the present time the Internet Network of Ethnic Associations, which has more than 160 ethnic associations from 46 Russian regions as members. The Center for Interethnic Cooperation performed conferences and trainings for youth and student organizations’ representatives in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Anapa, Astrahan, Pyatigorsk, Kaliningrad, Petrozavodsk, Kondopoga, Smolensk, Samara, Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Orenburg, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.
