Albacete is a city with around 172.400 inhabitants. I'ts the capital of one of the five provinces that form Castilla La Mancha. The unemployment rate in Spain is about 17 % and 17,40% in our city (December 2017) We provide training and employment services since 1987. So, since 1987 we have developed an important number of different training and employment programmes, sometimes in collaboration with another administrations, in European Projects, etc, and sometimes directly by us. http://www.albacete.es/es/por-temas/empleo Some of the services offered in 2017: JOB CLUB - CAREER GUIDANCE FOR EMPLOYMENT We provide career guidance for employment since 1997. These days the guidance service, as the development of Personal Integration Process, is offered through the Municipal Emploiment Agency and it is mainly aimed at people with risk of social exclusion. We also provide some services through the Internet in the area of Job Club into our website and through some social networks, mainly Facebook and Twitter. MUNICIPAL EMPLOYMENT AGENCY We have an agreement with the State Employment Service that authorizes us to intermediate in the labor market by connecting local businesses that are looking for employees with people who are looking for a job in Albacete. Nowadays, there are about 5.300 people registered for four different occupations at most. We make a preselection according to the requirements and characteristics of the jobs offered by the companies. We offer to job seekers, information and personalized guidance in the job search process SELF-EMPLOYMENT AND BUSINESS CREATION SERVICE Where we provide support to people who are thinking about creating a new business or self employment to solve their unemployment situation: support for defining legal form and business plan, information about paperworks, grants,.. LOCAL OBSERVATORY OF EMPLOYMENT AND ECONOMIC ACTIVITY In which we analyse the local labour market, local economic activity, needs of companies and people who are looking for a job. TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES Usually aimed at group with special difficulties of insertion because of their age, lack of qualification or socioeconomic situation: Youth living in environments with high risk of social exclusion, Support Program for Women Victims of Gender-based Violence, and other people with high personal and socio-economic difficulties. SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES “Plan Extraordinario por el Empleo en Castilla La Mancha ” (Social Employment): we developed this Social Employment Plan in collaboration with the regional administration offering six-month contracts for people with special socioeconomic difficulties, where people works in activities with interest to the community, for instance rehabilitating (restoring, repairing) public spaces and public forniture, as well as strengthening other municipal services. last year the program was adressed to 940 people in 34 projects “PROYECTO BECAS PARA JOVENES”: This is a municipal Traineeship programme addressed to 100 youths between 18 and 30 years old with some vocational training or university degree, joining Traineeship activities in local companies during 3 months and receiving a grant.
