By National Order of Service Number 301, dated December 1, 1970 was affiliated the Group 326 of the National Scout Corps - Portuguese Catholic Scouting with headquarters in the village of Idanha-a-Nova. From that date, the Group never closed its doors, having experienced ups and downs, but its staff always numbered sixty or so young elements, stabilizing since the nineties of the last century in the eighty elements, from 6 to 50 years. During these nearly fifty years of existence, members of Group 326 have been present in local, regional, national and international activities, including participation in National Scout Camps since 1973. The young people of Group 326, from October to July, have their activities on Saturdays, both in our headquarters, and in several small villages in the Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, and also in other country regions. The leadership of the group spared no efforts to give to the young people of Idanha the lessons based on the genesis of the movement founder, Lord Baden-Powell, as well as in the proposals of the educational program, in the areas of physical, affective, spiritual, intellectual and social development, applying the principle of "learning by doing". The Mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based of the Scout Promise and Law. To help build a better world where people are self fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. Scouting aims to help children and young people to fully develop their capacities so that they become active and responsible members in their community. Development that progressively results in greater autonomy for the children or the youngsters. For this, it can not only hear "how to do" or see others acting. To learn it is necessary to experience, feel, be in situations. This is because learning is a dynamic and an active process. In addition to all activities carried out, the group also supports other kind of activities (campaigns against hunger) and carries out awareness-raising activities at the National Field of Scouting Activities located at Monte de Trigo in Idanha-a-Nova, where in the last 3 National Camps (2007, 2012 and 2017), about 10 000, 17 000 and 22 000 elements participated, respectively.
