Youth Laboratory Association (GençLab) The Youth Laboratory Association (GençLab) was founded in 2022 in Samsun to increase young people's participation in civil society, politics, and academia. GençLab is an independent youth organization that aims to build an inclusive structure encouraging young people to be involved in decision-making processes. Our association works to ensure that young people have a say in social issues from a rights-based perspective, develop their capacities, and spread active citizenship awareness. Our Vision To ensure youth participation in all areas, supporting their development based on youth rights, enabling them to implement innovative and sustainable ideas, and fostering responsible individuals who will shape society. Our Mission Our primary mission is to make youth participation an integral part of life in Samsun and across Türkiye, to create participatory processes together with young people, and to ensure these processes are embraced by all youth. GençLab focuses on identifying the challenges faced by young people at the local and national levels and developing solutions through youth-driven initiatives. Our Areas of Work Youth Participation: We develop projects that enhance youth engagement in decision-making processes at local, national, and international levels. Advocacy and Policies: We work to contribute to the development and implementation of youth policies, ensuring the protection and promotion of youth rights. Monitoring and Evaluation: We analyze the current state of youth participation and conduct research to identify young people’s needs. Education and Capacity Building: We organize various training sessions, workshops, and events to help young people develop their skills. Our Target Group GençLab focuses on young people aged 18-30, aiming to contribute to their individual and collective empowerment. We believe that young people have the power to shape their own future. We are working together to build a participatory, inclusive, and sustainable youth ecosystem.
