STEP Spoločenstvo pre oblastný rozvoj

STEP - Spoločenstvo pre oblastný rozvoj, a non-profit organization active since 2010 in eastern Slovakia, was founded in Zemplínske Hámre to address the lack of development opportunities for rural youth. Now operating regionally, including Snina, STEP empowers young people through personal growth, leadership development, and critical thinking using non-formal education. A dedicated team of youth workers and volunteers runs workshops, training, and international exchanges. STEP is highly active in Erasmus+ (building on Youth in Action), implementing youth exchanges and youth worker mobilities, managing its own projects with strong youth participation, and acting as a reliable partner in international projects, mentoring youth on intercultural journeys. STEP has a robust European NGO network. Participants often return to become volunteers or leaders. Locally, STEP partners with Gymnázium sv. Cyrila a Metoda in leisure activities, KA1 and KA2 projects. The core mission is to bridge the opportunity gap for youth in remote areas, equipping them with skills, competencies, and confidence through local and international experiences to become active, capable citizens and community leaders.
