EUROPEAN RURAL CENTRE (C.R.E.) RIVODUTRI - RIETI

CRE, the European Rural Centre (Rivodutri, RIETI), is operating in the interest of local communities, in particular to young and most vulnerable onse. Our Centre is about 90 Km. northern Rome (Italy) but is suffering of structural problems economic, social and logistic deficits. The european dimension of the association delivered, through youth exchanges programs, capacity building programs, small rural and mountain village twinnings sharing common sustainable solutions/practices to basic common problematics (unemployment, social exclusion, public service degradation, drug dependency and other structural deficits). Our cultural association has collaborated and made possible European twinning projects between the municipality of Rivodutri and rural and mountain municipalities in Europe, (Candelario Spain and Seregeryes Hungary). New areas of interests are: skills development in organic agricolture, rural tourism via ICT and training opportunities for young population and retired people focused on sustainable tourism developed in collaboration with multiple local (City Councils, Natural Oasis Consortium, Elementary and secondary schools), national and EU Authorities. We are currently working to define a sustainable and shared 2020 Rural Strategy in which citizens, in particular young and disadvantaged, could learn of value added experiences in similar national and European remote and rural areas. Since 2017 we have a collaboration with Caritas Diocesana of Rieti and Arci Rieti. We are preparing two important projects as a social library and a social vegetable garden.
