National Non-Governmental Development Cooperation Organisations’ Platform (Lithuanian NGDO Platform) brings together 20 Lithuanian non-governmental organisations working in the field of development cooperation and global education. NGDO Platform was established in 2007. The NGDO Platform works in the following areas targeting different societal groups: Young people: NGDO Platform implements public awareness raising and civic education especially in relation to global interdependencies and international development especially targeting young people, educators in formal and non-formal settings. It also coordinates international GLEN volunteer programme that sends young volunteers (up to 30 years old) to pursue their internships in the developing countries and conduct global education activities upon returning to their home country. General public and journalists are targeted through our media and public awareness raising campaigns. Decision- makers: The NGDO Platform represents the interests of its member organisations in Lithuania, European Union and at other international (intergovernmental) organisations. It also participates actively in shaping and implementing Lithuanian and EU development cooperation policies. Lithuanian NGOs: The NGDO Platform develops and strengthens the capacities of the Lithuanian NGOs to participate in international development cooperation activities through provision of training, information and other relevant services. As part of Lithuanian Umbrella, the Lithuanian NGDO Platform is an active member of the European confederation of Relief and Development NGOs CONCORD, closely cooperates with the NGDO Platforms in Ireland, Scandinavia and the Baltic states.
