The Portuguese Family Measurement Institute of Funchal (IPMFF) is a delegation of the Portuguese Institute of Family Mediation (IPMF), created on February 3, 2007 by the founders' council. The mediator Maria Luísa Santos was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer, hereinafter referred to as the President, as per the IPMF's Act No. 41. The Portuguese Family Measurement Institute of Funchal, an integral part of the IPMF, therefore benefits from the status of IPSS (Private Institution for Social Solidarity) with public utility recognized by force of Order of September 28, 1989, with exemption from IRC under Declaration of Exemption published in Diário da República no. 147, Series III, of June 28, 1990. IPMFF, with a special focus on vocational training and consultancy, has as its objective the pursuit of cultural, educational, scientific and research activities in order to promote solidarity and social justice through Mediation of conflicts in general and Family Mediation in particular, The practice of Family Mediation has assumed an increasing importance in the area of solving family conflicts, especially in the separation phase. In this sense, it is important to give people who, for various reasons, understand how to cease their life together, the possibility of doing so in a humanized way. We believe that when accompanied by a professional who guarantees the necessary conditions of balance, cooperation and self-determination of the parties in obtaining an agreement these people safeguard their happiness and the happiness of their children, remaining parents beyond the separation Thus, within the scope and mission of the Institute is the preparation and training of professionals who can qualified to develop the activity of Conflict Mediation and specifically Family Mediation.
