Center for Youth and Social Development ''RES POLIS''

The Center for Youth and Social development “RES POLIS” was founded by young people on 24.07.2007. Members of RES POLIS want to contribute to more active participation of youth in society, by their activism and commitment. MISSION: RES POLIS wants crucial changes in society by strengthening of the influence of youth policy. By organizing non-formal learning activities (further: NFL) and active participation of young people, we improve their individual skills. As a result, society will have self-conscious, initiative young people, capable of changing themselves, theirenvironment and whole society. OBJECTIVES: The motivation of the citizens, development of cultural, social and sport awareness, education of youth and sustainable development, youth policy, problems and needs of young people,international cooperation and mobility of young people. From its beginnings RES POLIS has fought for rights of young people and their better opportunities. We were one of the founding organizations who have established a “National Association of Youth Work Practitioners - NAYWP” in Serbia. NAYWP made a basis for recognition of youth work as a profession and began an accreditation process of its organization. RES POLIS is one of the first ones who were accredited. Further we were 2 times in a row a resource center for youth organizations in 1 of 25 counties in Serbia. We also actively worked on creation of Local strategy plan for youth in city of Novi Sad. In that process we led the field of youth unemployment. Most recently we become a monitoring organization selected by city of Novi Sad with task to monitor implementation of dozens of youth project funded by city based on local strategy that we have worked on and consult young organization how to tackle implementation process. Further on we are actively work for almost 10 years on our process of creation and testing new IT educational programs. These programs are intend to be programs for prequalification or retrain of unemployed people. This process is consisted of series of projects that are focuse on specific program or specific level of program development Based on our experience work till now our strongest fields are: youth work, youth unemployment and youth policy. Our organization is working in the youth field 11 years now. Till now we have realized dozens of projects and worked with great number of stakeholders and thousands of users – young people. We were and we still are active in area of youth unemployment area. We started with project international / regional projects in 2009 where we have focused on international cooperation of stakeholders from countries from the Pannonian basin and the topic of the project was youth unemployment, experiences and good practice in region. After that we have worked in a commission / team which has created a Local Action Plan (further LAP) for youth which was later approved by the City Assembly of Novi Sad and now it is in implementation. Here we have lead the area of youth unemployment. Beside that we have worked with other organization and help other young people to start their initiative. For example we were Resource centres for designed county, selected by Ministry of Youth and Sport, who had a task to increase capacities of other / less experienced youth organizations to organize and implement youth actions on their own in their local rural areas. We were selected 2 times to be Resource centre in two different counties. Beside that we were active also in Youth in Action program from 2010 and we hosted / lead one 3.1 action project called “Design Your Job”, beside that we where partners on 3 more YiA project on which we have send our members. In 2015 and 2016 we were an organization selected by City of Novi Sad for monitoring the implementation of LAP and also we have a task to assist and counsel organization with less capacity. In 2016 EACEA has selected our project “Design Your Job II” which is a continuation of our earlier project. This project has include 300 young people from Albania, Croatia and Serbia and train them to be basic web and graphic designers: Further develop innovative curriculum as a base for starting a new program of support to unemployed people by our partners: Serbian and Croatian National employment services. In 2018 we continued our international mobility projects as applicant of one KA1 YE project and also 2 KA2 project from our “Design Your Job” initiative. DJY 3 is a Capacity Building project and deals with development and testing advanced program of web and graphic design. Further on DYJ 4 also deals with development of education program but for mobile / computer games. Moreover RES POLIS is one of the founding members of National Association of Youth Work Practitioners (NAPOR) and member of National Youth Umbrella Organization of Serbia.
