O.C.E.A.N NGO is a non-profit founded organization by a group of versatile people, coming from various educational backgrounds (such as engineering, exact sciences, psychology, arts, law, school teaching, special educators, economist, career counselling and guidance) and is oriented to provide a wide range of support services. It is focused on providing educational and counseling services to groups, institutions, organizations and individuals, who are involved in education throughout Greece, both at a regional, national and international level, as well as on supporting and disseminating innovative activities in education (intercultural education, cultural awareness and expression, sustainable development, environmental and climate change education, lifelong learning, informal and non-formal education, mediation, vocational guidance, embodied learning, didactics of exact sciences etc.). It deals with creating support structures in advisory networks for all non-profit organizations that need technical support and synergies in order to formulate and implement plans and programs. It also deals with the creation of databases and accumulation of project management knowledge in order to share knowledge on issues that Non-Profit Organizations face, for psychological and moral support of vulnerable groups. It finally intents to provide the necessary and vital underlay for groups of young people that are engaged and involved in arts (mostly actors and musicians) so that they can give birth and shape to novel and entrepreneurial ideas which can be implemented in education, in counselling, in analytic psychotherapy and so on. The organization is also experienced into and highly capable for selecting participants (volunteers, facilitators etc.) using specific selection criteria, based on the contextual framework of each project, as well as for organizing, regional and national training courses, workshops and activities, within a smooth and intimate, many years’, collaboration framework, with a vast number of : Municipalities, official public administrations and public bodies/entities, as the Greek Ministry of Education, relative N.G.O’s and other organizations, organizations that are focused into the Preservation of the National Cultural Heritage, Organizations of Psychotherapy and Education in Group Analysis, Public Universities as the National Kapodestrian University of Athens and the University of Western Attica, elderly and senior citizens groups and organizations, a great web of secondary education General Lyceums – General High Schools and their directors/headmasters, Professional Theatrical Groups from all over Greece, Media representatives and journalists etc.. It also deals with creating support structures in advisory networks for all non-profit organizations that need technical support and synergies in order to formulate and implement plans and programs. The goal of the training course which is based on intercultural topics is to prepare participants to develop culture-centered attitudes: a) that grow awareness of ones’ own culture limitations, b) that show respect and acceptance to other cultures, c) that make best use of communication skills such as active listening and empathy towards people from other cultures, d) that show high quality of cultural self-awareness and so on. Thus, behaving and communicating effectively and appropriately during intercultural encounters as well as flexibility in cultural behavior are needed for respectful and effective intercultural interactions both at social and workplace contexts. The board team is consisted by 7 members and 15 or 20 volunteer’s learners and experts in different subjects. The coordinator, as well as many members of our organization, have been orchestrating self-knowledge groups within a vast amount of different social forums and organizations for the past 6 years and have been collaborating with other agencies, organizations, Municipalities as (H.O.P.E, Hellenic Organization of Psychotherapy and Education in Group Analysis - HOPEinGA. , I.S.T.O.S, Municipality of Egaleo and Haidari) and specialized scientists (psychotherapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, social workers etc.). Other members of O.C.E.A.N NGO organization are also Professional and senior leaders of state and private associations and organizations and have special training and education, as well as great and many years’ experience of working with adults and children and pupils and also with disabled and persons with special needs. We coordinate the Advisory groups by analytic approach and particular groups with specific characteristics (youth teams, women’s teams, Educators, and elderly people). We finally intend to provide the necessary a vital underlay for groups of young people that are engaged and involved in arts (mostly actors and musicians) so they can give birth and shape to novel and entrepreneurial ideas that can be implemented in education, in counselling, in analytic psychotherapy etc. During the 2013-15 period our organization (with the total amount of 25 expertized individuals, actors, choreographers, directors, musicians, scientists, psychotherapists, engineers, educators, technologists and many others) is engaged with the completion and the expedition of the TOOL project and partnership that is involved with theatre as a tool for lifelong learning and a mean of sharpening the EU key competences. On November of 2015, O.C.E.A.N NGO was one of the partner organizations of European Erasmus+ KA2 project Educathe+ (Educational Theatre as the place of Raising Inclusion and Employability of People with Disability). O.C.E.A.N NGO as the partner to EILEEN Erasmus + KA2 program -Enhancing Intercultural Learning in European Enterprises. () established a well-defined system to provide training courses for workers and job seekers on intercultural issues, ensuring the practice of the new competencies, and the validation of the skills acquired. We have a many year’s experience in sharpening the EU key Competencies (mostly the Social and Civic, Cultural Awareness and Expression and Learning to Learn) within a wide variety of different frameworks of European programs. The board team is consisted by 7 members and 15 or 20 volunteers, learners and experts in different scientific and technical fields and domains, with many years expertise in KA1, KA2, KA3 and HORIZON EU programs.
