D&I was established in 2021 in Athens, Greece, aspiring to promote equal opportunities and diversity respect in the workplace, by promoting the Diversity in the workplace Charter and organizing initiatives and projects in compliance with its principles. Its ultimate goal is to develop an inclusive labor market and society in which equal opportunities are offered to all their members, diversity is respected and no form of discrimination and intolerance takes place. It is a non-profit association, a legally constituted organization which expressly prohibits the distribution of any profit. Its fundamental goals are to: 1. ensure that the principle of equal opportunities and equal treatment, regardless of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion or other beliefs, disability or chronic illness, age, marital or social status, sexual orientation, identity or gender characteristics is enforced and applied throughout all labor market processes. 2. establish and promote understanding, recognition and respect of workforce’s diversity in order to contribute to the promotion of equality, mutual respect, acceptance and cohesion in the social space and especially in the workplace. 3. promote and protect the individual characteristics of each individual and constructive use of workforce’s diversity, aiming to create an inclusive and non-discriminatory working environment. 4. provide information and training to the employees of the companies that have or will sign the Diversity Charter, in matters of diversity, diversity management and inclusion, with special emphasis on the executives of the Human Resources departments, the HR Operation Managers and the Heads of Departments participating in training and management of human resources. 5. promote diversity management in the corporate strategy, developing annual policy proposals and practices to promote diversity, combat discrimination and actively involve employees and executives in its implementation. 6. disseminate and promote the Diversity Charter and increase companies’ commitment to its principles. 7. develop projects, research, conferences, educational activities, publications, digital tools and materials to reduce discrimination and social inequality and promote diversity respect among European societies 8. provide training and professional development to executives, human resources executives, educators and youth workers, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, orientation, tools and skills to successfully manage and support diversity and inclusion in the workplace and all social spheres. 9. Promote networking and cooperation of different actors being involved in diversity and inclusion field. D&I, to achieve its fundamental goals, mainly works with: ▪ Young people with various backgrounds, 16 to 30 years old, including youngsters with fewer opportunities (financial obstacles, social difficulties, immigrants, and refugees, LGBTQI, religious and ethnic minorities, women, etc.) ▪ Employers, executives, entrepreneurs and HR managers 18+ ▪ Companies’ staff of any age and background ▪ Youth workers, staff and members of organizations and bodies organizing activities for the young people’s benefit ▪ Adult educators, VET providers and school staff and teachers of all 3 educational levels ▪ Policy makers and labor market actors such as chambers of commerce, trade unions, employee unions etc. ▪ Public bodies and relevant decision-making bodies such as the General Secretariat for Demography and Family Policy and Gender Equality and the ministry of employment. ▪ Civil society actors and communities working on diversity & inclusion ▪ Public institutions and their staff at local, regional and National level
