Our mission at KOMA Base is to provide assistance to the disadvantaged—those grappling with integration disorders, facing neglect, and at risk of dropping out of school. We aspire to transform KOMA Base into a home for young people who may have missed out on opportunities, offering them a haven where they can find safety, support, and opportunities for personal development. Our goal is to facilitate the reintegration of a youth group that would otherwise be lost without intervention. We focus our efforts on young people aged between 10 and 18 who are experiencing fundamental disadvantages. These individuals often encounter exclusion based on factors such as gender, sexual orientation, origin, socio-economic status, and mental or physical disabilities. They frequently face barriers to participation in communities, social services, schools, cultural centers, and various aspects of life. Our mission is to create an inclusive, trusting, and growth-oriented community for them, providing a chance for social participation. One of our key initiatives is the implementation of non-formal, inclusive education programs. These programs aim to provide alternative learning opportunities for young people who may have struggled within traditional educational settings. Through innovative pedagogy, we strive to create engaging and effective learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our participants. Community development is a fundamental aspect of our mission. We actively engage in projects that contribute to the well-being and cohesion of the communities we serve. This includes initiatives focused on infrastructure, social services, and cultural enrichment, all geared toward creating a supportive environment for the youth. Individual support is also very important in our work. We recognize the unique challenges faced by each young person, and our organization provides personalized assistance to address their specific needs. This may involve mentoring, counseling, or other forms of support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. Our commitment to inclusivity extends to intercultural pedagogy.
