Dormitory for secondary school students

The home for secondary school students in the City of Nis is an educational institution that provides accommodation, food, conditions for learning, implementation of academic and developmental work with youth aged 15-19, activities and content, entertainment, and sports life for students. The program service designs various sports-recreational, cultural-educational, and entertainment programs for students.Educational work takes place within the framework of informal education, while the pedagogical and psychological approach supports students during the sensitive developmental period of life. Students' free time is often organized by working in information science, sports, and culture sections.The City of Nis student's home conducts activities that encourage students' positive development and action in their mutual interaction, then in cooperation with educators and everyone who affects social behavior during their shared life in the home. In addition to special attention to ensure optimal conditions for additional education and upbringing, support is provided for developing their personality under the specific circumstances of life outside the family home.In addition to regular cultural-artistic and sports-recreational sections, pedagogical workshops are organized on topics that are of particular importance to students. Among others, topics that are given attention concern health hygiene, food culture, organization of daily duties, and others. Direct meetings, competitions, and workshops with students from other dormitories are also regularly organized, the purpose of which is to exchange positive ways of communication. The dormitory has a total capacity to care for 341 students, to constantly improve the standard stay in the dormitory. Following the needs, work is being done on the integration of children who come from rural areas territorially distant from most secondary schools, some of which have particularly rare educational profiles, while at the same time, work is being done on their adaptation to a different environment from the family one.
