MonteCapital is an organization located in Italy, in Rome. It was born in 2010. Its CEO is Dr. Daniele Monteodorisio. In the past we have participated as a partner in internship projects, both for young people from abroad to Italy, and organized projects for the transfer of young Italians abroad. At the time it was called the Leonardo Program and the projects were aimed at young recent graduates. As an organization deeply committed to the dissemination of knowledge, the promotion of peace, and the support of individuals with disabilities, we believe that engaging in Erasmus+ initiatives aligns perfectly with our mission and values. Our organization has always been driven by the belief that education is a powerful tool for fostering mutual understanding and creating a peaceful world. We are committed to breaking down barriers and building bridges between different cultures and communities. By participating in Erasmus+ projects, we aim to further strengthen these efforts and contribute to a more inclusive and interconnected Europe. In particular, our organization has a long history of working with individuals with disabilities. We understand the challenges faced by this disadvantaged group and are dedicated to providing them with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Through our participation in Erasmus+, we hope to exchange best practices, learn from others, and contribute to the development of inclusive educational strategies that promote accessibility, equality, and social integration for people with disabilities. We are confident that our involvement in Erasmus+ projects will not only enhance our capacity to support individuals with disabilities but also enrich our broader efforts to foster peace, solidarity, and social cohesion across Europe. We are eager to collaborate with like-minded organizations and contribute to the creation of a more inclusive, peaceful, and knowledge-driven society. It may seem superfluous and redundant, but now more than ever we must constantly remember that the planet's resources cannot be used, exploited and/or damaged indefinitely and this is precisely the concept that lies at the basis of the idea of sustainability. On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of Earth Day, the challenge was launched to find new solutions to the questions about the contribution that everyone can make to environmental sustainability in order to reduce the impact of our lifestyle and our environmental footprint on the Planet. The answer is both simple and complex: aim for a development model capable of maintaining the balance between respect for the environment and socio-economic progress. Ecological commitment and industrial production must and can coexist and this can only be guaranteed by the presence of a sustainable production activity. The fact is that sustainability is fortunately becoming an increasingly crucial part of the strategy of many companies: adoption of the best technologies and practices based on the principles of the circular economy, protection of the territory and biodiversity, promotion of renewable energy sources, commitment resource efficiency, recycling and optimal waste management, promotion of sustainable mobility and development of innovative technologies for the environment. In recent years, sustainability has become a real socio-cultural revolution which, starting from an ethical matrix, is increasingly influencing the strategic choices of companies. If until a few years ago actions linked to corporate sustainability were something sporadic, now Green Companies with their SMART approach are becoming a stable business model. The European Union, with its Green Deal, has also established a roadmap to make the EU economy sustainable: the plan is to achieve the objective by transforming climate problems and environmental challenges into opportunities for all policy sectors and making the transition fair and inclusive for all. At the center of international debates is the great problem of the consequences of deforestation on the ecosystem. The recent alarming news of fires in the Amazon are at the center of international news. The problem of deforestation is, in fact, felt throughout the planet. When forests are burned, the carbon produced accumulates in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas which, as is known, has the potential to alter the global climate. The precious biodiversity hosted by forests risks becoming irremediably extinct; furthermore, the selective deforestation carried out by farmers increases the flammability of the forest because it transforms a dense and humid environmental context into more open and drier territories. The damage caused to the agri-food sector by climate change and deforestation is also significant, resulting in food shortages in many of the countries where agriculture is the basis of the economy and daily needs. The absorption of CO ₂ is fundamental in the fight against climate change which, if not adequately countered with concrete measures, risks jeopardizing the survival of entire ecosystems. Carbon dioxide is the main cause of the greenhouse effect which, in turn, contributes to global warming. Restoring green areas is of fundamental importance for protecting the environment as a single tree can absorb up to 700kg of CO ₂ in 100 years. Protecting trees and forests represents a first effective solution to the problems caused by pollution, global warming and the resulting climate emergency. It is in this context that we have decided to take a clear position towards sustainability, to make a contribution to the environment by encouraging the growth of a forest in the heart of the Molise Region and, therefore, to contribute to the reforestation of Italian greenery with our project “The forest of MonteCapital”. Planting trees allows us to increase the absorption of CO ₂, an action necessary to counteract the increase in average global temperature and the consequent climate change. Planting trees also means protecting biodiversity, combating soil erosion and desertification, promoting reforestation. As well argued by Thomas Crowther and his team of researchers at the Zurich Polytechnic, "forest restoration is the best solution available today to avert climate change". We at MonteCapital intend to make a clear, tangible and quantifiable contribution and therefore, on the basis of the practices assigned to us by our customers, we will contribute to the planting of different types of trees which will depend both on the soil and on the availability of the plants (the choice will be between maple, paulownia, walnut, oak, ash, poplar, almond, eucalyptus and olive). We have signed an agreement with the Molise agricultural cooperative "La cava dei frassini" which will make the land available and which will take care of the planting and care of the trees, with the commitment to take care of them, protect them and allow their development over the years. Planting will begin next autumn/winter. The ultimate credit for the initiative goes mainly to our customers who, by entrusting us with their practices, allow us to be able to allocate a portion of the income to the care of the forest. Furthermore, anyone who is interested in contributing to the initiative by companies, institutions, associations and/or private citizens will be able to join in our efforts and sponsor, as a volunteer, the planting of one or more trees, regardless of the assignment of the practices.
