United Women in Diaspora – Vision and Alignment with SALTO Youth Initiatives United Women in Diaspora is a Resource Center based in Stockholm, dedicated to the empowerment and inclusion of immigrant women and youth. We are committed to fostering participation, visibility, and equal opportunities within Swedish society and across Europe. Our work is rooted in the belief that inclusion and active citizenship are essential to building sustainable, democratic societies. We strive to reduce social exclusion by supporting women and young people with migrant backgrounds to become agents of change in their communities. We focus on enhancing access to the labor market, promoting youth entrepreneurship, and developing intercultural dialogue and leadership among youth. Through mentorship programs, skill-building workshops, and advocacy initiatives, we aim to strengthen self-confidence, civic engagement, and social cohesion. Our mission aligns strongly with the values of the SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres, particularly in the areas of inclusion, diversity, and participation. We design and implement activities that support the Youth Goals of the EU Youth Strategy—especially those related to equality of all genders, inclusive societies, and quality learning. Key focus areas of our work include: - Promoting gender equality and women's leadership. - Preventing social exclusion through early interventions for marginalized youth. - Enhancing digital and entrepreneurial skills among young people. - Building bridges between generations through intercultural and intergenerational learning. - Empowering youth to participate in democratic life and decision-making processes. We collaborate with schools, municipalities, NGOs, and international partners to create projects that are sustainable, participatory, and impactful. Our approach is intersectional, culturally sensitive, and grounded in human rights. Through our initiatives, United Women in Diaspora aims to build a Europe where all young people and women, regardless of background, have the tools, networks, and confidence to actively contribute to society. We welcome collaborations under Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps, and SALTO-YOUTH platforms to further expand our impact and co-create inclusive futures.
