Common Knowledge

Common Knowledge is a non-profit social enterprise based in Kilfenora, County Clare, Ireland. We are a living classroom of regeneration, dedicated to sharing the skills needed for a truly sustainable home life. Our centre stewards 50 acres of land and provides space for immersive learning, cultural exchange, and community resilience. Through workshops and training opportunities we connect young people with practical and creative skills in building, making, mending, and growing. Our programmes emphasise non-formal education and collective learning. We believe everyone has something valuable to teach and learn, and we design our activities to foster confidence, creativity, and collaboration. We also provide accommodation and gathering spaces, enabling groups to immerse themselves in the Burren landscape and engage deeply with themes such as sustainability, cultural heritage, and intercultural dialogue. Our work actively supports inclusion and diversity, ensuring access for young people from different backgrounds, especially those with fewer opportunities. By bringing people together to share knowledge and skills, Common Knowledge nurtures confident, capable, and connected communities for the future. We are especially interested in initiatives related to environmental sustainability, rural revitalisation, active citizenship, and creative expression.
