Centro Sociocultural Zaidín

Our association is located in one of the areas identified as high-priority for social services, as outlined in the Inclusion Plan for Disadvantaged Areas. This is reflected in the fact that most of our users live in the disadvantaged Santa Adela area of Zaidín. We work to achieve equality, inclusion, and social well-being for the most disadvantaged social groups in our territory. To this end, we implement socio-educational projects aimed at facilitating labor, educational, and cultural integration under equal conditions. We welcome diverse social groups, including children and families at risk of exclusion, migrants, and young people. Our ongoing activities respond to the changing needs of the neighborhood: -Educational support for children, adolescents, and young people (6–17 years old). -Digital literacy. -Spanish as a foreign language courses for migrants (17-60 years old) (literacy and B2 Spanish). -Preparation for the Spanish nationality exam. -Preparation for the DELE exam from the Cervantes Institute. -Free psychosocial and administrative support for families and individuals at risk or in situations of social exclusion. -Community cultural activities in coordination with Granada Acoge, Aldeas Infantiles, Fundación la Purísima, public libraries, and educational institutions. -Summer schools for children from families who cannot afford vacation outings during the summer. Through the continuity of our socio-educational interventions, we aim to strengthen our role as a point of reference and welcome for the residents of Zaidín, and to be recognized for our ability to drive significant social change in the community. We have worked on small-scale projects funded by the Regional Government of Andalusia on migrant inclusion, together with organizations in Seville and Cádiz, as well as annual projects with Fundación La Caixa focused on youth and childhood, and with the City of Granada for the inclusion of women and migrants. We were beneficiaries of the ERACIS project in two calls, which allowed us to expand our reach in the district and become part of consultative spaces at the community and political levels.
