Beyond Barriers Youth (Informal Youth Group)

Beyond Barriers Youth is an informal youth group based in Türkiye, bringing together young people aged 18–30 who are interested in inclusion, accessibility and active youth participation. The group was formed with the aim of encouraging young people to reflect on social barriers and to contribute to more inclusive communities. Our activities focus on raising awareness about visible and less visible disabilities and accessibility challenges through non-formal education and participatory methods. We create safe learning spaces where young people can exchange perspectives, develop empathy in an ethical way and strengthen their critical thinking skills. Beyond Barriers Youth follows a youth-led approach, actively involving young people in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities. We are interested in international cooperation and in using digital tools, such as podcasts and multimedia content, to amplify young people’s voices and increase the impact of our work.
