Arcigay Pegaso Catania

Arcigay Pegaso Catania is the local committee of Arcigay in Catania, Sicily, and part of Italy’s largest LGBTQIA+ non-profit network. We run a community space that offers safe social opportunities, peer support and guidance, with a strong focus on young people, trans* communities and those facing discrimination or social isolation. Our work combines community building with non-formal education, awareness-raising and advocacy on human rights and equality. We collaborate with local stakeholders and institutions to promote inclusive services and safer environments in areas such as health, education and sports, and we contribute to prevention and well-being initiatives (including sexual health and anti-stigma actions). Arcigay Pegaso Catania is open to European cooperation and partnerships to design and deliver projects on inclusion and diversity, youth participation, well-being and mental health, anti-violence and anti-discrimination education, civic engagement, and capacity building for youth workers and volunteers. We can host activities in Catania and contribute with facilitation, outreach to LGBTQIA+ youth, community-based methodologies and experience in creating safer spaces.
