ARGO RECOVERY COOPERATIVE

“ARGO” Social Enterprise was founded on the 26th of June 2018 and it is the first social cooperative enterprise in Greece aiming to support people in recovery from drug addiction. It is frequently noted that addicts, due to their dependency, abruptly interrupt their educational progress and thus their professional career. With a low set of skills, competencies and abilities, social stigma, and minimal access to the labor market, social integration for dependent individual becomes a very difficult task. Consequently, even after completing a therapeutic program the therapeutic result, sobriety, is short lived and individuals return to a problematic lifestyle including substance abuse and delinquency. “ARGO” Social Enterprise completes “ARGO’s Alternative Therapeutic Program for Drug Addicted Individuals” therapeutic proposal and attempts to minimize the relapse percentage of people in recovery by promoting their social inclusion through educational seminars, training and recruitment in ARGO’s Social Enterprise activities. These activities at the moment include urban agriculture, recycling, second hand shop, and a carpentry lab without excluding the possibility of adding more in the future. By educating and recruiting people in recovery we promote a smoother reintegration to society and equal opportunities with the rest of workforce, eliminating deficiencies and empowering their talents.
