University of Rijeka Foundation

The University of Rijeka Foundation was founded in 2003. and it is among the longest living Foundations in Croatia as well as one of the oldest university foundations. The Foundation supports science, students and promotes the values of equality and transparency in academic society. ABOUT US: ◆ we are the first established University Foundation in Croatia ◆ so far we co-financed 2150 users of the Foundation’s resources through The competition for the co-financing of the participation in scientific conferences, The competition for the co-financing of the organisation of scientific meetings, The competition for the co-financing of publishing activities,The competition for the co-financing of student activities and a variety of themed competitions ◆ the Competition for the award of the Foundation is carried out continuously since 2004: we select the most meritorious scientists, artists and assistants who have contributed to the development of science at the University of Rijeka and the improvement of the wider community with their exceptional contribution to the scientific research and teaching as well as their actions in public ◆ the Foundation carries out a number of programs and projects, roundtables, forums, educations, workshops, humanitarian actions, public actions ... ◆ we organise volunteering actions ◆ we realise international collaborations ◆ we promote gender equality in science ◆ we give a boost to students ◆ we advocate sustainable development ◆ we promote culture of philanthropy In the forthcoming period, our challenge is to extend the scope of the Foundation development through fundraising campaigns and the activities of cross-border and regional cooperation, as well as the use of EU funds in areas such as responsible research and innovation, gender equality plans (GEP), and stronger connections with the real sector.
