Youth centre Žalec - Mladinski center Žalec

The Žalec Youth Center is a public institution that was founded in 2020 by the Municipality of Žalec and the Žalec Student Club at the initiative of young people in the municipality. Despite the fact that the period of operation of the Žalec Youth Center is short, the word about the successful work and varied program spreads throughout the local community as well as to more distant municipatilities. The basic mission of the youth center is to work with young people and for young people. Through a wide range of diverse workshops, events and projects, we want to provide young people in the local community and wider with a safe and pleasant place to socialize and spend their free time, offer them help and support in achieving their goals and realizing their ideas, and through non-formal education enable them to grow personally so that they will mature into capable individuals. In our program, we strive to address topics and challenges that shape our everyday lives. With the inclusive program we also address other interest groups in our municipality. We organize a variety of activities for children. In addition to regular monthly workshops for the youngest (art workshops, children's theater performances and cinema, etc.), we also offer them holiday camps - summer, autumn and winter. We always try to choose innovative topics that attract children and present them with a new challenge. We recently opened a day center in our premises, which is intended for quality leisure-time activities of children and young people between the ages of 6 and 18.
