Since 2016, we have been systematically protecting animals in Ukraine, changing societal attitudes and legislation—from banning circuses with animals and fur farms to combating cruelty, petting zoos, and other forms of exploitation. Our advocacy has contributed to key laws and led to the formation of the cross-party group “Humane Country.” Since February 2022, our efforts have focused on rescuing animals from conflict zones. We evacuate animals from frontline areas, run veterinary missions in eastern and southern Ukraine, support shelters, and provide medical care, sterilization, and basic aid. At the same time, we continue advocating for animal rights even during wartime: supporting national parks, expanding large-scale sterilization programs, building a strong volunteer community, and developing the Animal Rescuers Club. We promote the international #StopEcocideUkraine campaign and raise awareness about protecting Ukrainian nature on global platforms. We also create educational programs and materials for children to make compassion and humane treatment the norm from an early age.
