'a Strùmmula

'a Strùmmula is an educational, secular and non-profit association, born in Palermo (Sicily) in April of 2009. It recognizes children, boys and girls, a rightholder subjectivity able to participate and contribute in a unique and original to the social and civic life, and promotes the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (New York, November 20, 1989) ratified by Italy with law 27 May 1991, 176, choosing to work for the rights of children, boys and girls, are known, recognized and implemented. The association operates in Sicily and is present in Palermo, Carini, Cinisi and Terrasini. The activities of the association in the daily realized, are aimed at children, boys, girls and youth, and pursue educational and training mainly targets such as cultural awareness of rights; the promotion of pathways for participation and active citizenship; exchange and social and cultural comparing; the promotion of values of autonomy, self-organization and personal responsibility; the personal and cultural enrichment of children and young people, through all the shapes and artistic and expressive languages; respect for cultures through the appreciation of diversity; dialogue between generations; the enhancement of the "street" as a place of aggregation, exchange and individual and collective growth; the re-appropriation of public spaces as common goods to be protected and enhanced; health promotion and adoption of healthy lifestyles; the improvement of the quality of the environment and the artistic and cultural development of the territory, as well as global thinking through the act local. The association makes use of methodological tools such as game, participation, peer education and pedagogy of desire. It also favors work integrated network with third sector organizations, local governments, schools and local small businesses, as a tool capable of orient incisors and sustainable projects. The organization relies mainly on professional profiles such as, socio-cultural animators, educators, street animators, coaches, intercultural educators and psychologists, experts in the field of education and social animation, as well as on professional profiles experts in the artistic and expressive field, who share mission, objectives and methodological tools of the association.
