ComeUnaMarea

"ComeUnaMarea" is a no profit organization with a board of governors. It does not have employees, it counts on collaboration with professional assignment and volunteers. The headquarters of the organization is in Sicily, a region in the south of Italy with an important presence of migrants and refugees. It promotes the social cohesion and solidarity in the local urban context. “ComeUnaMarea” is member of the "Anna Lindh Foundation” an organization working for dialogue between cultures in the Euro-Mediterranean Region. The Association promotes studying, development and dissemination of the cultural, natural, archaeological, historical, artistic and ethnic-anthropological heritage of the Mediterranean countries. It gives great importance to oral traditions and expressions, performing arts, social practices, foods and knowledge related to traditional crafts. This activity was aimed at the whole community without social, cultural and ethnic distinctions. It also realizes events that sight to help the European citizens to learn living harmoniously and to exceed the differences inherent to their cultural, religious and linguistic diversity. Above all it makes aware both seniors and youth about the importance of developing one European active citizenship. “ComeUnaMarea” helps and prevents any form of unease concerning seniors and youth at risk of social exclusion, through actions of prevention and integration, providing adult and young education in almost every sphere of human activity.
