Contratto Sociale APS

Contratto Sociale APS is a non-profit association that promotes social, cultural, and environmental initiatives, with a strong commitment to local development and sustainability. Its work focuses on social inclusion, education, and active community participation, creating collaborative projects that bring together citizens, institutions, and local stakeholders. Founded in 2012 and based in Montebello di Bertona, a small municipality of around 800 inhabitants located in the Vestina area (Province of Pescara), the association operates in the inner and rural areas of Abruzzo. Its mission is to foster bottom-up processes that create spaces for social interaction, participation, and active citizenship, contributing to the development of inclusive and supportive communities. Through cultural, educational, and social projects, Contratto Sociale APS aims to reduce the gap in opportunities that often separates inner areas from urban contexts. The association promotes access to culture, learning, and personal development, with particular attention to young people and marginalized groups. A key aspect of its work is the regeneration of shared social spaces, considered essential to keeping inner territories vibrant, resilient, and socially aware. In addition to its daily activities hosted in its own community space—a social center that also includes a small library—the association organizes events throughout the year such as presentations, meetings, and public debates. It is also the organizer of Rock Your Head Festival, an independent music and arts festival held in the historic center of Montebello di Bertona. The festival represents a meeting point between sonic and geographic marginalities and serves as a celebration of both local and non-resident communities who identify with grassroots cultural and social processes.
