Contemporanea 2-0

Contemporanea 2.0 is an Italian cultural association, that combines cultural, artistic and managerial expertise and it is all female. Its main purpose is to use different cultural and artistic tools and techniques for the training and the development of the individual, with a special focus on youth, and the communities. Contemporanea 2.0, through the use of art, aims at creating social networks that allow people of different ages, gender and social backgrounds to engage creatively within the community. The association brings people together so that they can share knowledge and practices within the field of theatre in order to deepen understandings, develop new practices, create new opportunities around specific topics: - Theater activities: workshops, art performances, theatrical representations of prose, recitals on specific topics, travelling shows; - Visual arts: practical workshops, multimedia creations; - Voicing: vocal workshops, choral singing, reflection on the use of the voice; - Training courses and workshops: courses for trainers, youth workers, educators and teachers on different issues related to the above-mentioned topics; courses with the support of external artists and teachers on circus arts, theatrical and cinematographic styles. - Publishing meetings to introduce young authors to the wider public Contemporanea 2.0 considers the experience of the theatre as a combination of physical, emotional and cognitive experiences, in a constant relationship with other people, the environment, the diversity and the culture. Theatre as a broad mean to be used to promote social cohesion, active citizenship and bring social dialogue to light. Special attention is dedicated to the children and youth. The main idea is to provide access to educational training in theatre for children; to produce theatrical performances as a way for them to improve and demonstrate skills. Contemporanea 2.0 has a special interest in inter-generational work with local seniors to foster relationships with older people and to provide entertainment and recreational opportunities for the whole community. Contemporanea 2.0 works closely and regularly in collaboration with local and national NGOs, local institutions, schools and experts.
