ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS WITH HEARING LOSS APHEL UGANDA

Association of Persons with Hearing Loss APHEL, is an Umbrella organization for Hard of hearing associations in Uganda. APHEL Uganda, is a community based Organization and Non-government organization. It is also registered as a non- government at national level with the ministry of internal Affairs under Certificate No. S. as a recognized as Non - governmental organization in Uganda. Our Vision is to unveil the potentials of Hard of hearing people in Uganda and Africa as a whole. APHEL carries out several activities to its members. • Education to Hard of hearing Children. • Hands on Skills training to hard of hearing Youth and Adults. • Advocacy/UN – CRPD to trainings/workshops to its members We also build capacity of the deaf and Hard of hearing youth to be self sustainable Right now we have a growing inclusive school for children with hearing loss for both the deaf and the hard of hearing and we also do train many people in CRPD. We would like to be in partnership with you to build capacity through advocacy, training of skills to the youth and Hard of hearing people such that they become self sustainable.
