MentorUng is a voluntary, politically independent and democratic organization for children and young people that facilitates young people's different needs related to study processes, social community, ethics and value-based development. The organization aims for a mentoring scheme for a sustainable generation that is inclusive, value-creating for oneself and society. MentorUng will function as a resource center in the form of recruitment of volunteer mentors and activities for individuals, voluntary teams and organizations, as well as the school sector. MentorUng has a nationwide area of activity after collaboration with local organizations. We want to be an arena for positive togetherness between young people. Mentors meet young people on their terms and take young people seriously. We were established in 2019 and in the short period we have achieved many good projects through support from LNU, FriFond and Gjensidige Foundation, among other things, cabin trips, reading campaigns, summer activities for children, career guidance for minority language youth and even in these demanding times our volunteers continue with online homework help and digital activities. Especially in the study choice periods, we guide young people to make the right choices. We guide them both in centers and guide them to the right efforts to get advice and guidance. We participate in career planning activities. We visit universities and get lectures with multiculturally educated people who can give young people motivation and the belief in being able to master and set the right goals. At MentorUng, we work to ensure that all young people are included with us. To ensure the good cohesion of the organization, both members and employees must show respect for all people, regardless of age, gender and gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, functional ability, social status, ethnicity or political position as participants in our activities. We distance ourselves from all forms of discrimination, harassment and bullying.
