Občianske združenie SaUvedom (founded in 2019) is a civic association based in Trnava, Slovakia. The organisation focuses on environmental awareness, sustainable development, youth and volunteer engagement, and active citizenship. It operates in Baterkáreň, a pioneering reuse centre combining community education, circular economy practices, and social innovation. The organisation designs and delivers educational programmes for schools, youth, and communities on topics such as climate change, sustainability, circular economy, mental health, and responsible consumer behaviour. SaUvedom organises workshops, swaps, public events, and campaigns, and has created methodologies and curricula for primary and secondary schools. Since its founding, the organisation has organised over 150 educational events and workshops, engaged more than 2000 participants annually, and collaborates with schools, municipalities, and NGOs across Slovakia and Europe. Our main acitivites: Environmental Education & EVVO: Development of curricula, lesson plans, and teaching methodologies for schools (including for children with special needs and bilingual schools). Youth Work & Empowerment: Running programmes like Sila konať (Power to Act), Mini Sustainability Academy (MuSA), and Youth ESG Academy Reuse & Circular Economy: Operating a community reuse centre and digital platforms (e.g., SWAPka app, reuse.baterkaren.sk). Volunteering & Active Citizenship: Coordinating 20+ youth volunteers, engaging young people in decision-making via a youth-led board of directors. International Cooperation: Participation in Erasmus+ projects (e.g., Youth ESG Academy, environmental curricula development with partners from multiple EU countries).
