Veloz (born 1973), forming the foundation of our methodology in empowerment and risk management: ______________________________________________________________________ 1. ORIGIN AND HERITAGE ______________________________________________________________________ Born into a mountain guide family from Ecuador (Riobamba, 2,754 m). Alongside my father Enrique (1945–2018) and brothers Ivo (1974–2014) and Paul (1971), we look back on approx. 1,400 summit ascents of Chimborazo (6,267 m). Summit successes in Ecuador, Peru, the Alps, and the Pyrenees form my foundation. Highest protection standards are always at the core. ______________________________________________________________________ 2. FROM TRADITION TO NATIONAL SAFETY STRATEGY ______________________________________________________________________ Our family business, VELOZ Expediciones, pioneered active mountain rescue from 1970–2000. My brother Ivo and I led capacity building for the Army, Navy, Police, and Red Cross (1995–2010). This led to the founding of Ecuador’s first official Police Mountain Rescue Special Unit. This expertise is the basis of my "Zero Accident Strategy." ______________________________________________________________________ 3. ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP & INNOVATIVE LEARNING PATHS ______________________________________________________________________ As a Financial Engineer and Founding Director of the Faculty of Sustainable Tourism (UNACH University), I developed curricula in 2000 that bridge technical training with academic standards. ______________________________________________________________________ 4. SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY & EMPOWERMENT ______________________________________________________________________ We trained indigenous communities in sustainable tourism (1995–2015). In cooperation with the Ministries of Tourism and Environment, they received official nature guide licenses, enabling participation in their ancestral lands through associations that still exist today. ______________________________________________________________________ 5. STRATEGIC VISIBILITY: SANGAY VOLCANO EXPEDITION (5,230 m) ______________________________________________________________________ In 2002, I initiated Ecuador's participation in the Int. Year of Mountains (UNESCO/UN). I led the Sangay mission as a platform for sustainable IMPACT: 65 participants reached the summit simultaneously and safely. This utilized a network of previously trained organizations (Red Cross, Civil Defense, Elite Units). A TV documentary made this professionalism visible to STAKEHOLDERS, while a rigid environmental concept protected the ecosystem. This was the final major project before moving to Germany, concluding decades of work in strengthening indigenous autonomy. PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE ______________________________________________________________________ A bridge between 40 years of experience and the German education system: Financial Engineer, State-certified Educator (EQF Level 6), C-Licensed Instructor, Mountain Sports Lead Trainer (B-Class II), C-Licensed Alpine Climbing Instructor, Level II Rope Access Technician, PPE Technical Expert (PSA-Sachkundiger), Rescue Trainer & High-Angle Rescuer, Designer of Vertical Elements, Professionalization of Technical Training Pathways. ______________________________________________________________________ 7. LIVED INTERCULTURALITY ______________________________________________________________________ Living in Cologne, Germany since 2004. Our three children grow up bilingual & bicultural – the basis of my work as a bridge builder. ______________________________________________________________________ 8. METHODOLOGICAL CONTRIBUTIONS ______________________________________________________________________ Kletterfuchs specializes in "Safety and Risk Management" to ensure the quality standards of the Erasmus+ program: PEDAGOGICAL TOOLKITS: Creation of methodological guides for inclusive climbing as transferable project results (OER). SAFETY PROTOCOLS (SOPs): Development of risk management plans and safety strategies to fulfill the Duty of Care. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION: Empowering staff in belaying techniques and PPE expertise (safety equipment). ______________________________________________________________________ 9. PEDAGOGICAL COMMITMENT & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: ERASMUS+ PRIORITIES ______________________________________________________________________ We use climbing as a targeted method to achieve the program’s goals: INCLUSION & DIVERSITY: Climbing methodology adapted for the resilience of vulnerable groups (refugees, LGBTIQ+, people with disabilities). GREEN ERASMUS: Technical consultancy for outdoor activities according to ecological standards. DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION: Creation of digital educational resources for blended learning. ACTIVE PARTICIPATION: Promoting European values and youth leadership through sport. ______________________________________________________________________ 10. We develop standardized safety protocols, pedagogical toolkits, and risk management systems that justify a corresponding budget allocation for quality development.
