Parco Paternò del Toscano is a historic garden and community space in Sicily, Italy, combining cultural heritage, nature, environmental education and community engagement. Managed by an association, the Park is a living space where people of different ages and backgrounds can meet, learn and participate in activities connected with nature, culture, creativity and wellbeing. The organisation develops educational workshops, cultural events, outdoor activities and community initiatives, with a particular focus on sustainability, inclusion and active participation. The Park is especially interested in working with young people through non-formal education, experiential learning and activities related to environmental sustainability, biodiversity, cultural heritage, gardening and community development. We aim to create opportunities for young people to acquire practical skills, develop a stronger connection with nature, express their creativity and become active members of their communities. The organisation is currently developing new educational and social initiatives, including gardening and environmental education programmes, activities for children and young people, biodiversity awareness, inclusive learning opportunities and projects using the garden as a space for wellbeing and social participation. The Park is also interested in international cooperation and in developing partnerships within Erasmus+ and other European programmes, particularly projects related to youth participation, environmental sustainability, inclusion, cultural heritage, non-formal education and rural/urban community development. Our facilities, outdoor spaces and educational resources can be used to host workshops, meetings, training activities, youth exchanges and other participatory initiatives.
