Muwade Community Association Limited by Guarantee

MUWADE Community Association Limited by Guarantee is a Ugandan non-profit organisation incorporated as a company limited by guarantee. MUWADE is established to promote community development and empower youth, women and vulnerable groups to take charge of their own development and build inclusive, resilient and sustainable communities. MUWADE works with communities, local leaders, government institutions, civil society organisations and development partners to address poverty, unemployment, gender inequality, social exclusion and other challenges affecting vulnerable populations. Our key areas of work include economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, youth empowerment, gender-based violence prevention and response, health and well-being, education, child protection, disability inclusion, sustainable agriculture, food security and climate resilience. MUWADE supports young people and women through skills development, entrepreneurship, life skills training, leadership development, civic engagement, savings and income-generating activities. We also strengthen community awareness and protection systems to prevent gender-based violence and promote access to appropriate support and services for survivors. In health and social development, MUWADE promotes sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS awareness, mental health and psychosocial support, child protection and community-based approaches that improve access to information and essential services. We promote the meaningful participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities and other underserved groups in community development. MUWADE also promotes sustainable agriculture and climate-smart practices to strengthen food security, household incomes and community resilience. We believe that lasting development is achieved when communities have the knowledge, skills, opportunities and partnerships necessary to identify and address their own priorities. The organisation is limited by guarantee, MUWADE operates on a non-profit basis for community and social benefit, with its resources dedicated to achieving its organisational objectives. We collaborate with local and international organisations, government institutions, youth networks, community groups and other stakeholders to develop and implement inclusive, community-driven programmes that contribute to sustainable social and economic development.
