Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education

Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education has been operating in the field of education, youth and sports. We organize sport, social and cultural activities for youth to learn active participaton in every sphere. (Traditional Turkish music instrument saz, guitar, dance, folk dance, sport courses in various branches…) also we organize children’s games and youth festivals every year. Our target group is between 12 – 25 years old in the youth field. Beside this every year more than 1000 youth join our cultural activities. We work with really young and creative team consisting young volunteer trainers. We have already organized 2 Youth Projects; The first one took place in Itay with 1 Project Coordinator, 2 Youth Leader and 8 youths. Project was YIA 1.3 Youth and Democracy Project called “Young Promoters of Participation”. The objective of the project is to strengthen the active participation of young people in the democratic life stimulating them to point out positive and negative aspects of decisional processes and create some proposals to improve them, starting from youngsters needs and also considering the prevention and nonviolent management of conflicts, that is a very important instrument, especially in multicultural societies, as the European ones. The second one was a Youth Exchange which was held in France on July 2014 with the participation of 6 different countries (France, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy and Turkey) It was about identify EU Symbols to create active young participants.
