Care in Action

Care in Action is a small charity which works in Ukraine. We are people from all walks of life, dedicated to improve the living standards and opportunities for disadvantaged children in developing countries. Our projects: Volunteering - Building a well organized and trained volunteer body to support the children in Care and develop the leadership skills of the volunteers. Guardian Angel Program – Personal and Educational Mentoring to give individual support and provide tutoring to enhance learning opportunities for children in Care. Knowing someone is there for them helps motivate and encourage the children. ‘STEP’ – Life preparation and support programme for orphanage leavers. - Covers vital topics such as AIDS, Substance abuse, Rights, Trafficking awareness, health and safety issues, Relationship Skills. - Provides Mentors to help during the precarious transition to independent life. ‘TOGETHER’ - Child development and socialization programs for institutionalized children. - A vibrant interactive series of programs, with character building activities and individual personal attention to encourage and promote social and personal skills so vital for adapting to life outside. Prevention work - in problem families – is a long-term goal as it helps prevent the children from entering into care. Because it is very labor intensive, our present means limit us to some individual cases.
