EFA is an association between professionals that brings together the expertise and twenty years of experience of the founders, and the joint work with psychologists, educators and other experts in the areas of consulting, training and planning, largely in the areas of active citizenship and the Third Sector, with particular attention to the target of young people. For the youth, EFA has acquired and can promote: • In general, the "sensitivity", in-depth knowledge of the systems of non-formal education in Italy and in Europe; the teaching skills centered on learning; those methodological based on the commitment in planning and training for young people in formal and informal educational settings; • In particular, the twenty-five years experience in the training of young people and workers of Civic Service (formerly part of the Italian law 772/72 and 230/98 besides the 64/01), which is an exceptional training context for young people, a non-formal rite of passage to adulthood, from studies to employment, to adult, personal, social and civil commitment. In this specific sector, EFA has one of the most extensive and continuous experience at national level. From 1991 until at least 2004, we met and trained more than two thousand young people from all over Italy. Since then we have worked with some of the major national institutions of the Civic Service, integrating the direct training to the objectors and then to the volunteers, with the one to operators and educators, contributing to the construction of systems of general training, well before it became compulsory by Law 64/2001. EFA can leverage a complete knowledge of the system as a consultant of the National Office of the Civic Service (UNSC) and some of the major regions (Liguria, Piedmont, Sicily, Campania and prov. Trento). The partners and associates of EFA have developed and conducted in the past 10 years in Italy: - Consulting and training courses for operators of voluntary associations, as consultants of some Italian Service Centers to Volunteerism, also for the management of projects of European Voluntary Service; - ESF funded projects on social cooperation, skills assessment, job orientation and safety at work, involving more than 40 schools and over 1,000 students and 200 higher education; - Courses in schools on gender identity, on the fight against homophobia, as consultants Arcigay; - Projects of skills development and training activities for workers and volunteers of the main center against gender violence in Genoa, as well as for social and health workers, police officers, journalists and lawyers. Our team has developed a focus in international projects. We have planned and conducted training and research initiatives in international cooperation projects, with a strong presence in the Balkans and in two experimental Europeans projects of the call EACEA "Amicus": one for the UNSC and the other for Liguria Region. For this second project we have also taken care of the selection and evaluation of the experiences of overseas service offered to young Italians. Since 2003 we are experts of European programs for youth and non-formal education in general, by previous Youth in Action and Grudtvig, to Erasmus +, particularly with expertise in the design and coordination of the European Voluntary Service and planning projects for social and cultural companies. We have already won in 2014 two Strategic Partnership projects, one multi-sectoral in the culture field and one Youth within the theater and education.
